What Is Wished For
The name votuary is a play on the latin origins for vote (votum, which means vote, wish, prayer, and vow) and loosely translates to a receptacle for vows. These interactive artworks encourage participants to write down and deposit their wishes/vows within the receptacles. These artworks are a way of highlighting the ritualistic nature of voting, the prophetic status of public opinion, and the experience of lost common ground when the cracks in mythology are revealed.
